Karnataka's classic circuit runs from royal Mysore into the coffee-scented hills of Coorg and on to the Nilgiris - a journey of palaces, plantations, waterfalls and mountain viewpoints. Begin with the opulent Mysore Palace, the musical-fountain gardens of Vrindavan and the Jain Temple before climbing into the 'Scotland of India'.
In Coorg, meet gentle giants at the Dubare Elephant Camp, take on a river-rafting session, watch the valley from Raja's Seat and stand at Talacauvery, the sacred source of the Cauvery, with Abbey Falls thundering through the plantations nearby. The route then rises to Ooty, where Coonoor's Sim's Park, Lamb's Rock and Dolphin's Nose lead up to Doddabetta Peak - the highest point in the Nilgiris.
